NJCAA Foundation Announces Convention Scholarship Program
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA Foundation has announced that it will begin a scholarship program to benefit attendees of the annual NJCAA Convention.
In 2025, the NJCAA Foundation will fund four $750 scholarships to help with attendance of this year’s Convention, slated to be held in Denton, Texas, on April 13-17.
“The support of the NJCAA Foundation to help our administrators and coaches be able to attend our annual Convention presents a wonderful opportunity to those throughout our membership,” said Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President and CEO.
“The NJCAA Foundation is proud to be able to contribute to the development of leaders throughout the Association. The Foundation wishes to embody the maxim of the NJCAA that ‘Opportunities Start Here,’ which is true for professionals at our NJCAA member institutions, just as it is for our student-athletes,” said Andrew Givens, Executive Director of the NJCAA Foundation.
One scholarship each will be awarded across four different areas of interest.
- The Aspiring Leaders Scholarship - The Aspiring Leaders Program is targeted to NJCAA members seeking general knowledge of the NJCAA in addition to getting more involved in the governance structure. In order to complete the Aspiring Leaders certification, participants will be required to attend designated sessions of Convention with targeted Professional Development sessions throughout the week as well. To be eligible for this scholarship, the recipient must be on staff at a NJCAA member institution, and must enroll and commit to completing the Aspiring Leaders Program during Convention week.
- First Time Attendee Scholarship - The First Time Attendee Scholarship is designed for those attending their very first NJCAA Convention. To be eligible for this scholarship, the recipient must be on staff at a NJCAA member institution, and must be a verified first-time attendee of the NJCAA Convention.
- Lonestar Scholarship - The Lonestar Scholarship will be awarded to a recipient who is on staff at an NJCAA institution in the state of Texas.
- Non-Member Scholarship - The Non-Member Scholarship is designed to help non-NJCAA members attend the Convention and provide exposure to the NJCAA for networking. The recipient must attend at least 15 sessions throughout the week. Ideal candidates for this scholarship include high school coaches, high school athletic directors, and college personnel from non-NJCAA institutions.
Scholarship applications are due by March 7, 2025.
