Bresnu to receive David Rowlands Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced Adam Bresnu, men’s golf student-athlete from Odessa College (TX) as the 2024-25 David Rowlands NJCAA Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
The Rabat, Morocco native is currently ranked as one of the top 200 amateur golfers in the world, as tabulated by WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking), scoring nine wins, and 30 top 10 finishes over the past two seasons.
In 2024, Bresnu finished fourth at the NJCAA Division I Men’s Championship, where the Wranglers finished in the runner-up position as a team at Rockwind Community Links in Hobbs, NM. He was ranked as the top overall men’s golfer throughout the 2024-25 season, carrying a sub-70 stroke average, and finished in second place at the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men’s Championship at Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS.
In January, Bresnu was one of thirty-five named to the 2025 Ben Hogan Award Watch List, which honors the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. He was the only two-year student-athlete in the entire country to be named to the list. On June 1, Bresnu was presented with the Jack Nicklaus Award as the National Player of the Year in men’s collegiate golf.
Bresnu carries a 3.69 GPA, and will continue his career at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He’ll join the Red Raiders as a rising junior and will be majoring in Business Administration.
“Adam Bresnu represents everything the David Rowlands Award stands for – excellence, perseverance, character, and leadership,” said Wayne Baker, Athletic Director at Odessa College. “Having had the privilege to know David personally, I can say he would be incredibly proud of Adam’s achievements both on and off the course. Adam's commitment to his sport, his academics, and his team embodies the very best of what it means to be a Wrangler and a student-athlete. We are honored to celebrate this remarkable accomplishment and grateful to the NJCAA for continuing David’s lasting legacy through this prestigious award.”
