Bio
Troy Tucker was named Director of Athletics at Northampton Community College on June 2, 2008. One of the most highly decorated athletic administrators in the country, Tucker is a Five-time National Athletic Director of the Year (Cushman & Wakefield 2023, Under Armour 2020, 2017, 2013 and NSCAA 1998). Tucker was recently honored as the recipient of the 2023 NJCAA George E. Killian Award of Excellence, which is awarded annually to individuals that have demonstrated the ideals of voluntarism, achievement, service, leadership, and excellence as exemplified by its namesake. In 2022, Tucker was the recipient of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrator's (NATYCAA) highest honor, the L. William Miller Award, which is presented annually to a member of NATYCAA who demonstrates excellence in leadership, service and integrity in an athletics program at a two-year college or organization. Tucker currently serves at the NJCAA Board of Regents Chair.
At Northampton, Tucker has overseen the renovation of several facilities, including new men's and women's basketball team rooms, a new softball complex and a strength & conditioning center, secured the bids for Northampton to host the 2015 and 2019 NJCAA Division III women's basketball National Championship Tournaments, the Region 19 Championships in softball (2011, 2012), volleyball (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016) and men's & women's basketball (2016, 2018, & 2020) in addition to signing a deal to host the Lehigh Valley Senior All-Star Basketball Classic, which brings together the top high school seniors in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Tucker initiated and oversaw the development and design of the Northampton athletic logo and word-mark in 2014 and the redesign of NCCSPARTANS.com in 2015 and the summer of 2020. In addition, Tucker implemented new Spartan mascot in the summer of 2019 to supplement the word-marks and logos.
Tucker is a 1991 graduate of SUNY Geneseo and a 1992 graduate of Springfield College, where he earned his Masters in athletic administration. Tucker resides in Moore Township, PA with his wife Rhonda and their three children; Griffin, Haley, and Mason.
