Bio
Mitch Gibson oversees Community Reinvestment Act funding in the state of North Carolina for Truist Financial Corporation. In his role as a community development manager Gibson engages non-profits who serve low to moderate income populations and small businesses with revenues of less than $1 million. This engagement includes reviewing their grant proposals and identifying opportunities for Truist teammates to support their communities through involvement with these organizations.
Prior to joining Truist, he spent 13 years at Bank of America as SVP Strategic Relationships Manager. In that role, he managed several of Bank of America's national multicultural partnerships. Early in his career, he lead finance organizations at General Electric, Sara Lee, and Siemens.
Passionate about community involvement Gibson is currently a trustee at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and sits on the City of Charlotte Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization committee and the United Way of Greater Charlotte. He is a past board chair of the Keith YMCA, finance committee member of the Metro YMCA, treasurer for 100 Black Men of Charlotte, treasurer for the Mallard Creek High School Booster Club, and member of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Education Advisory Board Committee.
Gibson earned a B.A in Accounting from Furman University and an MBA from Winthrop University. When he isn't working he enjoys sports, discussing politics, and a good movie.
